How does NAT devices show in the RSWho?

  • If an Ethernet device is accessed through a NAT (Network Address Translation) device, RSLinx Classic can browse this Ethernet device through the Ethernet devices driver or the Ethernet bus. Both the public IP address and private IP address of this Ethernet device show in the left pane of the
    RSWho
. If there is a device browsed with private address when you select Details view in the
    RSWho
    , a column named
    Private Address
    shows.
  • The following devices that are found when browsing through a NAT router device show a downstream Ethernet bus. The downstream Ethernet bus, when expanded, shows private network devices without the need to provide NAT configuration for them.
