Unable to install EDS files

While installing RSLinx Classic, you encounter the error message “Unable to continue Installing EDS files. Contact Rockwell Software Support for assistance.” To correct the problem, you must delete EDS.INI, RSEDSUI.DLL, RSEDS.DLL, and RSHware.exe files. To do so, perform the following steps:
  1. Click the
    OK
    button on the error message box, and let the installation continue and finish.
  2. From Add/Remove program dialog box, uninstall RSLinx Classic.
  3. Search for EDS.INI, RSEDSUI.DLL, RSEDS.DLL, and RSHware.exe files on your system, and delete all instances of them.
  4. Reboot the computer, and reinstall RSLinx Classic.
