Specify serial port settings

You can configure port settings for the two 1756-DH485 channels using the serial port settings screen.
To configure serial port settings:
  1. In
    Baud rate
    , enter the baud rate assigned to the serial port on the controller. Select 9600 or 19200 (default).
  2. In
    Data Bits
    , enter the actural number of bits of data per character. Select from 7 (ASCII only) or 8 (default).
  3. In
    Parity
    , enter the parity of the link. Select from Even Parity, Odd Parity (ASCII only) or No Parity (default).
  4. In
    Stop Bits
    , enter the actural number of stop bits per character. Select from 2 (ASCII only) or 1 (default).
  5. In
    Control Line
    , enter the type of handshaking you want to use during communication. Select from No Handshake (default), Full Duplex, or Half Duplex.
  6. In
    RTS Send Delay
    , enter the time delay in transmitting the first character of a message after turning on the RTS line. The default value is 0.
  7. In
    RTS Off Delay
    , enter the time delay in turning off the RTS line after the last character has been transmitted. The default value is 0.
  8. Click
    Apply
    to save the settings.
