Configure a 1756-DH485 channel

The ControlLogix Gateway Configuration tool lets you to configure the station address, controller slot, error detection mechanism, and protocol settings for the two 1756-DH485 channels.
To configure a DH485 channel:
  1. In
    Station Address
    , enter the node number of the device on the network. Valid values are between 0 and 245.
  2. In
    Controller Slot
    , enter the slot number in which the local programmable controller resides.
  3. In the error detection group field, click an option to specify the error detection mechanism to use for your messages.
    • Select
      CRC
      if the processor sends and accepts messages with a 2-byte CRC.
    • Select
      BCC
      if the processor sends and accepts messages that end with a BCC byte.
  4. Select the
    Enable Duplicate Detection
    check box if you want the processor to ignore all duplicate messages.
  5. In
    Token Hold Factor
    , enter the number of transmission (plus retries) that a node holding a token can send onto the data link each time it receives the token. The
    Token Hold Factor
    has a minimum value of 1 and a maximum value of 4; the default value is 1.
  6. In
    Max Station Address
    , enter the maximum address that the initiator searches for before wrapping up to zero. The default value is 31.
  7. Click
    Apply
    to save the settings.
