View Ethernet status and configuration data for a Device Level Ring-capable module
View status and configuration information (uploaded directly from the device) on the
Network
tab. The Network
tab s the following information about the DLR capability of your module:Name | Description |
Network Topology | Shows the current network topology format - Linear/Star or Ring. |
Network Status | Shows the current network status - Normal, Ring Fault, Partial Network Fault, Unexpected Loop Detected, or Rapid Fault/Restore Cycles. |
Active Ring Supervisor 1 | Shows the IP or MAC Address for the active ring supervisor (assuming the network is operating in a Ring topology format and an active ring supervisor exists on the network). |
Active Supervisor Precedence 1 | Shows the precedence value for the active ring supervisor (assuming the network is operating in a Ring topology format and an active ring supervisor exists on the network). |
Enable Ring Supervisor 1 | Enables/disables the ring supervisor function in a supervisor-capable module. Tip: The configuration is applied to the module immediately. |
Ring Faults Detected 1 | Shows the number of times that a ring fault has been detected by the module when the module is configured as a ring supervisor on the network. |
Supervisor Status 1 | Shows the module’s ring supervisor status when the module is configured as a ring
supervisor on the network - Backup, Active, Normal Ring Node (supervisor not
enabled), Non-DLR topology (supervisor not enabled, and no other supervisor is
present), and the device cannot support the currently operating ring parameters
(Beacon Interval and/or Beacon Timeout). |
Reset Counter button 1 | Resets the Ring Faults Count attribute, causing the ring fault count on the
module to be set to zero. All fields on the Network page are also updated. If the selected module does not support the Device Level Ring (DLR) capability,
this button will not be displayed. If the selected module is not a supervisor,
this button will be unavailable. |
Ring Fault - Last Active Node on Port 1 2 | Shows the IP or MAC Address for the last active node on Port 1 when the module is the Active Ring Supervisor on the network. |
Ring Fault - Last Active Node on Port 2 2 | Shows the IP or MAC Address for the last active node on Port 2 when the module is the Active Ring Supervisor on the network. |
Verify Fault Location 2 | Triggers the active ring supervisor to verify a ring fault location and updates the corresponding Last Active Node on Port 1 and Last Active Node on Port 2 attributes. |
Status 2 | Shows the ring fault condition on the network when the module is the Active Ring Supervisor on the network. |
Clear Fault 2 | Clears a cycle of rapid ring fault/restore conditions within the ring supervisor and returns the device to normal operation. If the module is the active supervisor and in the rapid fault/restore condition, this button will be shown. Otherwise, it will not be displayed. |
Advanced button 1 | Shows the Advanced Network Configuration dialog box for the module. If the selected module does not support the DLR capability, this button will not be displayed. |
Refresh communication (and graphic) | Uploads all of the DLR object data from the module and refreshes all of the network status information displayed on the tab. |
1 This field will not be shown if the selected module does not support the ring supervisor function. 2 This field will not be shown if the selected module is not an active ring supervisor.3 This field will not be shown if the selected module does not support Device Addressing mode. |
If you selected a 1783-ETAPxx module, the
Network
tab also shows the following additional information:Name | Description |
Port Buffer Utilization - Port 1 | The port buffer utilization (as a percentage [%]) of Port 1. |
Port Buffer Utilization - Port 2 | The port buffer utilization (as a percentage [%]) of Port 2. |
Port Buffer Utilization - Device Port | The port buffer utilization (as a percentage [%]) of the Device Port. |
