Configure a 1756-ENBT/EWEB/EN2T port

To configure a 1756-ENBT/EWEB/EN2T communication port, perform the following steps:
  1. In the
    Network Configuration Type
    group box, specify the network type (
    Dynamic
    or
    Static
    ).
  2. Select one of the two interface configuration values (
    BOOTP
    or
    DHCP
    ), determining the method that the device will use to obtain an initial IP address at start-up.
  3. Specify the
    IP Address
    for the device.
  4. Specify the
    Network Mask
    of the device, which is used when an IP network has been partitioned into subnets.
  5. Specify a default
    Gateway Address
    , indicating the IP address of the default gateway of the device.
  6. Specify the address of the
    Primary Name Server
    . This address is used to resolve host names.
  7. Specify the address of the
    Secondary Name Server
    . This address is used when the primary name server is not available or unable to resolve a host name.
  8. Enter a default
    Domain Name
    (maximum of 48 characters). This name is used when resolving host names that are not fully qualified.
  9. Enter a default
    Host Name
    (maximum of 64 characters). This name is used when the DHCP method is employed upon startup.
  10. Review the
    Status
    field to view the status of the communication port.
  11. When complete, click
    OK
    .
