Configure SmartGuard USB device
To configure the SmartGuard USB device, perform the following steps:
IMPORTANT:
The first time you connect the SmartGuard device to your computer using a USB cable, Windows recognizes the new USB device and asks you for a driver.In the dialog box, select
Browse
, and go to Redist > RSLinx > PnP_Drivers > Win2K > SmartGuardUSB-KernelDrivers
folder on your RSLinx Classic installation DVD. Select the FTDIUNIN.EXE
file. Once the driver is installed, re-start RSLinx Classic.- From theSelect Interfacedrop-down list box, choose the1752 SmartGuard USB Portoption.
- In theResponse Wait Timecontrol, specify the number of seconds RSLinx Classic should wait to receive responses from the safety device. The default value is 15 ms. You can enter a value between 5 and 30 ms.TIP:You cannot make changes to the values displayed in theMAC AddressandBaud Ratecontrols. They are Read-only.
