1784-PKTX(D) diagnostics
Diagnostic counters are available by right-clicking the processor station in the
RSWho
window. Driver diagnostics are found under the General
tab in the tabbed
dialog box. In addition to the General
and Performance
tabs, other tabs, such as MAC Driver Counters
and DH+ Counters
may be present depending on your specific driver configuration. Driver diagnostics are modeless, and can remain on the desktop when you minimize RSLinx Classic. The following is the list of diagnostic counters with corresponding definitions.
General Tab | |
---|---|
Total Solicited Packets Sent | The total of Local Solicited Packets Sent and Remote Solicited Packets Sent. |
Solicited Replies Received | Total replies received to both local and remote solicited packets sent. This number should equal Total Solicited Packets Sent, but lags behind by a few packets because replies are not back yet. |
Local Unsolicited Received | Total number of unsolicited messages/commands received from stations on the same link as this one (local stations). These are messages that are sent to RSLinx Classic that are not sent to an RSLinx Classic virtual link. |
Local Unsolicited Sent | Total number of unsolicited messages/commands that the RSLinx Classic engine replied to. |
Remote Unsolicited Received | Total number of unsolicited messages/commands received from stations on remote (offlink) links or messages/commands that are sent to an RSLinx Classic virtual link. |
Unsolicited Forwarded | Total number of unsolicited messages forwarded to the RSLinx Classic engine from the driver. This number should equal the total of Local Unsolicited Received and Offlink Unsolicited Received. |
Unsolicited Replies Sent | Total number of unsolicited messages that the RSLinx Classic engine replied to. This number usually equals Unsolicited Forwarded unless RSLinx Classic gets unsolicited messages that it does not understand and cannot forward to a client application or cannot reply to. |
Communication Errors | Total number of errors communicating from the RSLinx Classic engine to the actual device driver to specifically send a packet out. This number should never increase beyond zero. If it does, the actual drivers and/or communication interface hardware are being stressed beyond their capacity. |
Solicited Packets Canceled | Total solicited packets that timed out in RSLinx Classic waiting for a reply. If a reply is received at a later time, the reply is disregarded. If this number is rapidly, this driver and/or communication interface hardware is being stressed beyond its capacity. |
Local Solicited Packets Sent | Total packets sent to local stations on the local link and not on the other side of any bridge. |
Remote Solicited Packets Sent | Total packets sent to remote stations on a remote link (the other side of a bridge). |
