Application
When you use a Windows NT application to obtain data from another Windows NT application, you must provide the name of the application you want to respond to your message. When you use a DDE link between two applications, you specify the name of the application you want to exchange data with. For example, if you want to send data to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, the application name is EXCEL (for the Excel version 5.0 format). When you ask RSLinx Classic for data, the application name to use is RSLINX.
