PLC-5 enhanced: unsolicited messages on a ControlNet network
To configure an unsolicited message in a PLC-5C and route it to RSLinx Classic on the same ControlNet network, complete the following:
From RSLogix5
Create a message instruction in the PLC-5C processor. Refer to the RSLogix5 documentation for details on how to complete this step.
From RSLinx Classic
- From the Control bar, selectDDE/OPC > Options.
- On theGeneraltab, selectAccept UDP Messages on Ethernet Port.TIP:This option is enabled by default inRSLinx Classicversion 4.00 or earlier. Starting fromRSLinx Classicversion 4.10, this option is disabled by default.
- FromRSWho, right-click the ControlLogix processor, and selectConfigure New DDE/OPC Topic.
- From the DDE/OPC Topic Configuration dialog box, select theData Collectiontab and ensureUnsolicited Messagesis selected.
- From theAdvanced Communicationtab, selectLocal routefor Local or Remote Addressing.
