PLC-5 enhanced: unsolicited messages through a 1756-ENET Gateway
To configure an unsolicited message in a PLC-5C and route it through a 1756-ENET ControlLogix Gateway to RSLinx Classic on an Ethernet network, complete the following:
From RSLogix5
- Create a message instruction in the PLC-5C processor. Refer to the RSLogix5 documentation for details on how to complete this step.
- Under Controller Properties specify a unique Source Link ID.
From RSLinx Classic
- From the Control bar, selectDDE/OPC > Options.
- On theGeneraltab, selectAccept UDP Messages on Ethernet Port.TIP:This option is enabled by default inRSLinx Classicversion 4.00 or earlier. Starting fromRSLinx Classicversion 4.10, this option is disabled by default.
- FromRSWho, right-click the ControlLogix processor, and selectConfigure New DDE/OPC Topic.
- From DDE/OPC Topic Configuration dialog box, select theData Collectiontab.
- SelectPLC-5for Processor Type.
- Select theAdvanced Communicationtab. For Local or Remote Addressing, selectRemote routeand configure the bridge type as 1785-KA5 Bridge/5130-KA.
- For the Remote ID, use the Source Link ID from the target PLC-5C, and ensure the Remote Network Type is Data Sidewalk (DH485) with Internet Mode selected.
