View Event Log

To view the event log, select
View > Event Log
to display the Open Event Viewer dialog box and click
OK
.
The Event Viewer records important system occurrences such as RSLinx Classic drivers successfully starting and stopping. RSLinx Classic may write to two of the available Event Viewer logs. From within the Event Viewer, double-click the Application Log, Security Log, or System Log icon to display information for each event log.
Enable
Do not display this message in the future
to bypass the
Open Event Viewer
dialog box next time you select
View > Event Log
. To re-enable the
Open Event Viewer
dialog box display, select Options, General tab and enable the
Enable Event Viewer Notification
selection on the
General
Tab.
TIP:
RSLinx Classic provides a option to generate Windows Event messages when network path used by a client software package results in a binary route that is longer than RSLinx can support (120 bytes). Navigate in RSLinx Classic to
DDE/OPC > General > Enable route path limitation diagnostics
to modify this setting. The route length log messages can be viewed in the
Start > Event Viewer
.
