Before you begin

FactoryTalk Activation Manager provides a secure, software-based system for activating Rockwell Automation software products and managing software activation files. Activation files are generated and distributed via the Internet. If an internet connection is not available, use the FactoryTalk Activation Manager to create a Host ID file that can be imported to a computer with an Internet connection.

EvRSI activation is replaced by FactoryTalk Activation Manager since RSLinx Classic v2.58.00 (CPR 9 Service Release 4).

You can install the software on any number of computers; however, you are only licensed to run the software on one computer at a time. After you install the RSLinx Classic software, the Setup program will prompt you to activate the product. For more information about activation, refer to the activation section.
