Configure forward proxy
FactoryTalk Updater R4.10 creates a tool named UpdaterProxyUtility.exe to configure
Forward Proxy Server for FactoryTalk Updater Server. It is installed in the same location as
FactoryTalk Updater Server and requires administrator privileges to run.
- In theConfigure Forward Proxywindow, perform the following actions:
- Select theUse the forward proxycheckbox.
- In theForward proxy serverfield, enter the valid proxy server IP address and port.
- Update the settings in the FactoryTalk Updater ServerWeb.configfile:
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Rockwell\Updater\Server and add a proxy node to theWeb.configfile.
- Change IIS Application Pool Identity user:
- To Open IIS (Internet Information Services), go to.

- Right-clickUpdater, and then selectAdvanced Settings.
- UnderProcess Model, findIdentity, and select

- ChangeIdentityfromBuilt-in accounttoCustom account.
- SelectSet…, and enter your Windows username and password.
- To save your changes and restart the operating system, selectOK.TIP: FactoryTalk Updater sometimes displays the status message Disconnected, check the system log for details while using a proxy server.
