Installation from screens
FactoryTalk Updater versions 3.00.00 and later use Windows authentication to enhance product
security. This requires FactoryTalk Updater Agent and FactoryTalk Updater Server machines to
be in the same domain. A standalone installation to a computer may be a domain or workstation.
Installation can be done via screens or scripted commands. You can view the commands by
selecting .
You must install the FactoryTalk Updater Agent on all required computers in a network. The
FactoryTalk Updater Agent collects information from the local computer for the FactoryTalk
Updater Server. One FactoryTalk Updater Server is required on the network to collect and
persist information. At least one FactoryTalk Updater Client is required to connect to
FactoryTalk Updater Server and configure the system.
