AOP
An Add on Profile is used within Studio 5000 to define a specific piece of hardware and how it will react within the control system.
Air gap
Air gap is a network security measure employed on one or more computers to ensure that a secure computer network is physically isolated from unsecured networks.
Normal Mode
In FactoryTalk Updater, Normal Mode is a default mode that FactoryTalk Updater uses to collect installed software information, static and transaction activation information, and AOP information in the agent. Normal Mode also gets and shows the latest information of installed software from PCDC and performs patch deployment.
OT Mode
Operational technology is hardware and software that detects or causes a change, through the direct monitoring and/or control of industrial equipment, assets, processes, and events. OT environment usually describes environments containing industrial control systems (ICS). In FactoryTalk Updater, it refers to the environment that cannot connect to PCDC.
IT Mode
Information technology is the use of computers to create, process, store, retrieve, and exchange all kinds of data and information. In FactoryTalk Updater, it refers to the environment that can connect to PCDC.
