I can't connect to the FactoryTalk Directory server
Possible cause and solution:
- The physical computer that is acting as theFactoryTalk Directoryserver is replaced, but the name of the new server computer is not changed,FactoryTalk Directoryclients think they are still connected, but they are not. When client attempt to login to the server, user authentication fails even though the connection status shows the client is connected to the server.To fix this issue either:
- Manually add all client computers to the new server computer:
- From theFactoryTalk Administration Console, expandSystem > Computers and Groups
- Manually add all client computers to theComputers Group
- Re-establish the client connection to the new server:
- On each participating network directory client computer, connect the client to a local server
- Reconnect each client computer to the new remote server
