I manually added a device to my network, but why when I execute a network browse does it disappear from the screen?

FactoryTalk Linx
comprises a browse cycle like
RSLinx Classic
, which scans addresses and determines the present devices. During each cycle,
FactoryTalk Linx
compares the list of devices present in its configuration for that network (discovered during a previous browse cycle or manually added to the network) against what was just discovered.
If a device is present in the configuration but was not found during the browse cycle, it is removed from the display. Thus, when browsing a network, the display shows the set of devices discovered during the most recent browse cycle.
If a device was manually added, though, then it has not actually been removed from the configuration; it has merely been removed from the display. To bring the manually-added device back into view, right-click on the network and click
Show All Devices
.
