Severity Settings Properties - Policy Settings tab

How do I open the Severity Settings Properties dialog box?
  1. In the
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    or
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    Explorer window, expand
System > Policies > System Policies > FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
    .
  2. Double-click
    Severity Settings
    .
The
Policy Settings
tab in the
Severity Settings Properties
dialog box is where you specify and apply severity settings to:
  • Controller status alarms generated by
    FactoryTalk Linx
    .
  • Tracking events that are logged when an operator interacts with alarms.
To change severity settings for individual alarms, use the
Logix Designer
application for device-based alarms, the Alarm and Event Setup editor on the Tag Alarm and Event server for tag-based alarms, or the
FactoryTalk Linx

To change a severity value
  • To change a severity value, click in the appropriate row, and then click the arrow that appears beside the current severity value. Type a severity value or use the up and down arrow keys to change the value.
To group severity ranges into priority categories
  • To make it easier to filter and sort events and distinguish among levels of urgency, the severity values of 1 to 1000 are grouped into four ranges. Each range is associated with a priority category: Urgent, High, Medium, and Low. The System Settings Properties dialog is used to set the severity ranges associated with each priority category.
