Set up graphic displays

Graphic displays created in
FactoryTalk View Studio
are containers for
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
objects, such as the Alarm and Event Summary object.
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
objects are used to monitor and interact with device-based, tag-based, and OPC UA alarms at runtime.
Add alarm and event objects to
FactoryTalk View
graphic displays
  1. Run
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    and open an existing application.
  2. Expand the
    FactoryTalk
Explorer window to display the HMI Server where you want to add the new graphic display.
  3. If the application does not yet have an HMI Server, add one. Right-click the application or area, point to
    Add New Server
    , and then click
    HMI Server
. Follow the instructions on the HMI Server Wizard.
You can only add HMI servers to a View SE
    network distributed
    application. Both
    network station
    applications and
    local station
applications support a single HMI server, which is provisioned silently by the system when the application is created.
  4. In the
    Graphics
    folder, right-click
    Displays
    , and then click
    New
    .
  5. On the menu bar, click on
    Objects
    , point to
    Alarm and Event
, and then click one of the objects listed:
    Banner
    ,
    Summary
    ,
    Log Viewer
    ,
    Status Explorer
    ,
    or
    Automatic Diagnostic Event Summary
    .
  6. Click in the grid and drag the cursor to position and size the object on the graphic display.
  7. Double-click the object to configure its properties.
    For step-by-step instructions, see the
    FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
    System Configuration Guide
    , available from the
    Help > Online Books
    menu in
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    .
  8. When you finish, click
    OK
to close the object properties, and then click
    File > Save
    to save the graphic display.
  9. Create additional graphic displays and insert and configure other Alarm and Event objects as needed.
