Logon user specification for FactoryTalk Data Access Local group
The FactoryTalk Data Access local group is installed by FactoryTalk Services Platform. Use this page to add FactoryTalk Data Access local group as the logon account for SQL Server database and assign permissions.
To do so, you need to do one of the following:
- In theExisting userslist, select a user that is already in the pre-configured group.
- Next to theUser namebox, click the browse button to select a logon user, and then enter the password.
On this page, you can also add a user account to the FactoryTalk Data Access local group.
The following table lists the items and their meanings on this page.
Item | Description |

Existing users | Select the users that are already in the pre-configured group. |
User name | Enter or click the browse button to select a local or domain user account. Enter a user account in a format similar to .\LocalAccountName or DomainName\DomainUser .Tip: When used with -l , -ls , and -lw parameters, LocalAccountName is the the same as .\LocalAccountName . |
Password | Enter the password for the local or domain user account. |
The new SQL Server logon account is created in a format like
ComputerName\FactoryTalk Data Access
.The system local group (FactoryTalk Data Access) account will be assigned db_owner permissions to the selected databases.
