Log on to FactoryTalk

When first launching
FactoryTalk Administration Console
or another
FactoryTalk
product log on
FactoryTalk
. Log on using either:
  • An account username and password for a default FactoryTalk user, Windows user, or Microsoft Entra ID user, LDAP user group, or OpenID Connect.
  • An RFID badge
  • An RFID badge and a password
Badge logon is not supported on remote clients connecting via Remote Desktop Services. To log on using an RFID badge, connect an rf IDEAS card reader to the computer hosting the
FactoryTalk Services Platform
.
If single sign on capability is enabled, only log on once, per directory, on a given computer. This allows working with multiple
Rockwell Automation
products on the same computer without having to log on to each product separately.
When single sign on is disabled, log on to
FactoryTalk
each time
FactoryTalk Administration Console
or any other
FactoryTalk
application opens.
IMPORTANT:
When single sign on is enabled, exiting
FactoryTalk Administration Console
or other
FactoryTalk
products do not log off of
FactoryTalk
. The user remains logged on to
FactoryTalk
until using the
Log On to
FactoryTalk
tool to log off
FactoryTalk
, or the computer logs off
Windows
.
To log on to
FactoryTalk
  1. Double-click the
    FactoryTalk Directory
    icon in the notification area of
    Windows
    taskbar. Alternatively, go to
    Rockwell Software >Log On to FactoryTalk.
  2. In
    Directory
    select
    Network
    or
    Local
    .
  3. If login using a badge is enabled, scan your badge on the card reader.
  4. If a password is required in addition to the badge type the
    Password
    and select
    OK
    .
  5. If login only uses a password, type the
    User name
    and
    Password
    , then select
    OK.
