Reconnect to a data source

Reconnect to a data source to select a different data server or configuration file.
IMPORTANT:
Connecting to a different server deletes all of the current groups. To save the current configuration of data items and group, save the config file.
To reconnect to a data source
  1. In
    FactoryTalk Live Data Test Client
     select
    File
     >
    Reconnect
    .
  2. In
    Initial Connection
    select the type of data source, either:
    • OPC DA Server
    • Factory Talk
    • Load Config File
  3. Specify the location of the data source to connect to.
    • OPC DA Server
      : Select an OPC DA server from the list. In OPC DA Server Machine, select either Local or Remote. If remote, type the computer name of the remote server in the space provided.
    • Factory Talk
      : When prompted, select the
      FactoryTalk Directory
      , either
      Network
       or
      Local
      , and select
      OK
      . The list of available
      FactoryTalk
       servers appears. Expand the list as necessary to locate the data server to connect to, and select
      OK
      .
    • Load Config File
      : Select
      Browse
       to select a saved config file.
  4. Select
    OK
     to switch to the new data source.
