Load a config file

Load a config file to open a collection of previously saved data items and groups for monitoring. A config file is saved in XML format.
To load a config file
  1. Start the
    OPC
     or other
    FactoryTalk
    -enabled server.
    • To connect to
      FactoryTalk® Linx
      , start the
      FactoryTalk Linx
       data server.
    • To connect to
      FactoryTalk® View Site Edition (SE)
      , start the
      FactoryTalk View SE
       or
      FactoryTalk View Studio
      , and then open an application.
  2. Go to
    Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Tools
    and open
    FactoryTalk Live Data Test Client
    .
  3. In
    Initial Connection
    , select
    Load Config File
    .
  4. If the configuration file appears in the list, select it. Continue to step 7.
  5. If the configuration file does not appear in the list, select
    Browse
    .
  6. In
    Open
    , navigate to the location where the configuration XML file is stored and select the XML file, then select
    Open
    .
  7. Select
    OK
     to load the file:
