About the FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool

FactoryTalk® Linx
 Redundancy Module Configuration Tool is an extension module that enables online operations and configuration of 1756
ControlLogix®
Redundancy Modules, including 1756-RM2 and 1756-RM3. This tool is launched through the
FactoryTalk Linx
 Network Browser.
FactoryTalk Linx
 Redundancy Module Configuration Tool uses
FactoryTalk® Audit
 logging to create audit messages for each action performed on the redundancy module.
Access to
FactoryTalk Linx
 Redundancy Module Configuration Tool is controlled by
FactoryTalk® Security
. You must have the
Open Device Configuration
 permission to access the tool.
TIP:
To configure the
Open Device Configuration
 permission, open
FactoryTalk® Administration Console
, and then go to
System > Policies > Product Policies > FactoryTalk Linx > Feature Security
.
To launch
FactoryTalk Linx
 Redundancy Module Configuration Tool, locate a 1756 ControlLogix Redundancy Module in the
FactoryTalk Linx
 Network Browser topology view, right-click the module, and then select
Device Configuration
.
TIP:
  • The tool supports 1756-RM2 modules with firmware revision 20.010 or later.
  • The tool must be installed on the same computer as the
    FactoryTalk Linx
     Network Browser for this option to be available.
