When calling, be at your computer and prepared to give the following information:
  • The product name and version number, which can be found in the client.
  • The type of hardware being used.
  • The exact wording of any errors or messages that appeared on your screen.
  • A description of what happened and what you were doing when the problem occurred.
  • A description of how you attempted to solve the problem.
  • Open the log files location. Data Explorer log files are stored under:
    • Users folder: \DataExplorer\workspace\.metadata
    • C:\Program Files\Rockwell Software\FactoryTalk Analytics Data Explorer\4.5\workspace\.metadata.
