Use the
Settings
tab to configure the EtherNet/IP Address Commissioning Tool
server network settings.Field | Description |

Local server IP | The BOOTP/DHCP server workstation's IP address. |
Subnet mask | Used to define the range of IP addresses that can be used in the current network. Tip : The subnet mask must match the workstations subnet mask and the devices to be configured must also be on the same subnet. |
Gateway | The gateway address is a router interface connected to the local network that sends packets out of the local network. Tip : Some devices will verify the gateway address is reachable. This setting should be verified to ensure it is either null (e.g. 0.0.0.0) or contains a valid IP address. |
Primary DNS server | The server that is used to translate the domain names to IP addresses. |
Secondary DNS server | The backup server that is used to translate the domain names to IP addresses. Tip : Some devices will verify the DNS address is reachable. This setting should be verified to ensure it is either null (e.g. 0.0.0.0) or contains a valid IP address. |
Network Interface Card | Displays or selects the network interface card (NIC) name and IP address. |
Auto-start application | Run the EtherNet/IP Address Commissioning Tool as Administrator to enable or disable the auto-start application function. |
Validate IP before assignment | When this option is enabled, it will check if the IP addresses that are used by other devices before assignment. Note :

Don't show network interface card selection on start up | Used to prevent the Network Interface Card selection dialog box from showing up every time the tool starts. |
Enable MAC address blocking | Used to enable or disable the MAC address blocking function in the Blocked MAC list. |
Any of the actions below could update the Network Information
- Restart the tool.
- Change aNetwork Interface Card.
- Restart theEIP Commission Tool Windows Service.
