The
Channels
page (5094-IF4IHS, 5094-IF4IHSXT, 5094-OF4IHS, 5094-OF4IHSXT) includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Channel
The channel number to which this configuration applies.
Disable
Select to disable channel configuration or clear to enable channel configuration.
Disable the channel to help prevent erroneous fault reporting, such as open wire fault, and to help prevent the FLT LED for that channel from illuminating.
Input Type (5094-IF4IHS, 5094-IF4IHSXT)
Select the input type for the channel. Available options are:
  • Voltage (V)
  • Current (mA)

Enable HART
Select to enable communication to HART devices.
Output State During Program Mode and Communication Fault Mode (5094-OF4IHS, 5094-OF4IHSXT)
Determines the behavior of each output when the controller transitions to Program mode. While in Program mode, outputs from the controller are ignored and the output behaves according to these:
  • Off - Output is Off
  • Hold Last State - Output maintains last state
High Signal
Enter one of four points used in scaling. The high signal is in terms of the channel signal units and corresponds to the high engineering term when scaled. The scaling equation is used.

Low Signal
Enter one of four points used in scaling. The low signal is in terms of the channel signal units and corresponds to the low engineering term when scaled. The scaling equation is used.
Units
Shows the unit used for high and low signals.
High Engineering
Enter one of four points used in scaling. The high engineering helps determines the engineering units the signal values scale into. The high engineering term corresponds to the high signal value. The scaling equation is used.
Low Engineering
Enter one of four points used in scaling. The low engineering helps determines the engineering units the signal values scale into. The low engineering term corresponds to the low signal value. The scaling equation is used.
Units
Shows the unit used for high and low engineering values.
Digital Filter (ms) (5094-IF4IHS, 5094-IF4IHSXT)
Enter the time constant for a first order lag filter used to smooth noise transients on the input with a range from 0…32767 milliseconds. When set to 0, no filtering takes place.
Disable Alarms (5094-IF4IHS, 5094-IF4IHSXT)
Select to disable the module from generating process alarms or rate alarms. Clear to enable the module to generate process alarms or rate alarms.
Diagnostics
Select to open the
Ch0x Diagnostics
dialog box and view diagnostic information.
Latch fault until reset via output tag (5094-IF4IHS, 5094-IF4IHSXT)
Select to turn on

for all channels.
  • Selected: The I/O channel holds safety input fault indications until it checks if a fault exists. If the fault is removed, the channel only clears the fault status after detecting that the ResetFault, in the channel consume assembly, has a rising edge. Otherwise, the channel continues to check if a fault exists.
  • Cleared: The I/O channel holds safety input fault indications for one second before checking if a fault exists. If the fault is removed, the channel clears the fault status. Otherwise, the channel continues to check if a fault exists.
