The
Alarms
page (5094-IF4IHS, 5094-IF4IHSXT) includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Disable All Alarms
Select to help prevent the module from generating any of the four process alarms (LL, L, H, and HH) or the rate alarm and disable access to any of the alarm configuration properties.
Latch Process Alarms
Select to instruct the module to latch any or all of the four process alarms (LL, L, H, and HH) once the alarm has been triggered, even if the condition causing the alarm to occur disappears.
High High Limit
Enter the trigger point in Engineering Units. HHAlarm is set to 1 when the input signal moves above this limit.
Move the
HH
marker down or up to set the
High High
value. As you move the marker, the
High High
value changes to match the value of the
HH
marker. The
HH
marker corresponds to the
High High Limit
value.
High Limit
Enter the trigger point in Engineering Units. HAlarm is set to 1 when the input signal moves above this limit.
Move the
HI
marker down or up to set the
High
value. As you move the marker, the
High
value changes to match the value of the
HI
marker. The
HI
marker corresponds to the
High Limit
value.
Low Limit
Enter the trigger point In Engineering Units. LAlarm is set to 1 when the input signal moves below this limit. The Low Alarm Limit must be greater than or equal to the Low Low Limit and less than the High Limit.

LO
marker up or down to set the
Low
value. As you move the marker, the
Low
value changes to match the value of the
LO
marker. The
LO
marker corresponds to the
Low Limit
value.
Low Low Limit
Enter the trigger point in Engineering Units. LLAlarm is set to 1 when the input signal moves below this limit. The Low Alarm Limit must be greater than or equal to the Low Low Limit and less than the High Limit.
Move the
LL
marker up or down to set the
Low Low
value. As you move the marker, the
Low Low
value changes to match the value of the
LL
marker. The
LL
marker corresponds to the
Low Low Limit
value.
Deadband
Enter a deadband value in engineering units. Having a deadband value allows the process alarm status bits to remain set, even if the alarm condition disappears, as long as the channel data remains within plus or minus the deadband value of the process alarm.
Enable Rate Alarm Latching
Select to enable Rate Alarm Latching or clear to disable Rate Alarm Latching.
If selected, the Rate Alarm latches and does not clear until explicitly unlatched.
Rate Alarm Limit
Enter the Rate Alarm limit in Engineering Units. An alarm sets if the rate of change between input samples on this channel exceeds the Rate Alarm limit specified.
