Module Diagnostics dialog box

How do I open the Module Diagnostics dialog box?
  1. Diagnostics
    is disabled when:
    • You are operating offline.
    • An identity mismatch exists.
    In the
    Controller Organizer
    , expand the
    I/O Configuration
    folder, and double-click the module.
  2. In the
    Module Properties
    dialog box, click
    Module Info
    , and then click
    Diagnostics
    .
The
Module Diagnostics
dialog box is used for multiple module types so the parameters displayed can vary. Settings that do not apply to a module type do not appear.
Tip:
When the connection is lost to the module, a timeout error occurs. On dismissal of the error message, the parameters are blank.
Select
Refresh communications
to update the data on the dialog box.
The
Module Diagnostics
dialog box includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Value
Run Mode
Shows the operating state for the module.
Output modules follow the Run Mode for the owning connection.
Input-only modules are always in Run Mode.
Idle
Run
Diagnostics Thresholds Exceeded
Shows whether any diagnostics are active or a threshold has been reached.
None - No diagnostics active
Yes - One or more diagnostic thresholds reached
Diagnostics Sequence Count
Shows the count for each time a distinct diagnostic condition was detected, and also each time a distinct diagnostic condition transitioned from detected to not detected.
0 to 255
Self Test
Shows whether internal product initialization tests detected an error.
Passed
Failed
CPU Utilization
Shows the usage of the compute engine.
0% to 100%
Redundant
Shows whether the device is running in Redundant mode.
Tip:
If the device is not intended to run in Redundant mode, the value is always
No
, but if the device is intended to run in Redundant mode and the value is
No
, this indicates there is a problem.
No
Yes
Over Temperature
Shows whether the device is at a normal or higher temperature than its rated operating limits.
Above Operating Range - Device is at a higher temperature than its rated operating limits
Normal - Device is at a temperature within its rated operating limits
Critical Temperature
Shows whether the temperature is above or below the critical temperature limit for proper operation.
True - Device is above critical temperature limit for proper operation and may shutdown without further warning
False - Device is not above critical temperature limit for proper operation
Flash Update Required
Shows whether the device requires application firmware.
True - Device has no application firmware. This can occur if the firmware update process is interrupted, or the device shipped without the application firmware.
False - Device has application firmware
Memory Card Status
Shows the current status of the removable memory card.
Fault - Removable memory card is either not present, not formatted, or has insufficient space available to store configuration data and firmware
OK - Removable memory card is present, formatted, and has sufficient space
Memory Card Data Status
Shows the status of the content of the removable memory card.
Mismatch - Content of the removable memory card does not match the running configuration and/or firmware
OK - Running configuration and firmware matches the data on the memory card
Connections
Shows the number of CIP connections currently open to and through the adapter.
0 to 32767
Packets lost
Shows the running sum of the number of Sequenced Address Item Sequence Numbers that are skipped in Class 0 and Class 1 connections consumed by the adapter and its children.
0 to 2147483647
Timeouts
Shows the running count of the number of connections that time out, both originated and targeted, to and through the adapter.
0 to 2147483647
HMI Packet Rate
Shows the rate at which the HMI packets are being sent and received.
The number of Class 3 packets and unconnected packets sent and received by the device in the previous second.
0 to 2147483647
I/O Packet Rate
Shows the rate at which the I/O data is being sent and received.
The number of Class 0 and Class 1 packets that were sent or received by the adapter in the previous second.
0 to 2147483647
Ethernet Errors
Shows the sum over all ports of the following Ethernet Link object values: In Discards, In Errors, In Unknown Protos, Out Discards, Out Errors, Alignment Errors, FCS Errors, Single Collisions, Multiple Collisions, SQE Test Errors, Deferred Transmissions, Late Collisions, Excessive Collisions, MAC Transmit Errors, Carrier Sense Errors, Frame Too Long, and MAC Receive Errors.
0 to 2147483647
Time Synchronization Status
Shows whether the module is currently synchronized with a precision time protocol (PTP).
Synchronized
Not Synchronized
Local Clock Offset to System Time
Shows the offset, in nanoseconds, from the local clock to the system time.
Use this value to detect steps in time. This value updates when a precision time protocol (PTP) update message is received.
-9223372036854775808 to 9223372036854775807
Local Clock Offset Timestamp
Shows the timestamp of the local clock offset in YYYY-MM-DD-HH:mm:SS_mmm_uuu_nnn(UTC-00:00) format.
  • YYYY = year
  • MM = month
  • DD = day
  • HH = hour (24 hour)
  • mm = minutes
  • SS = seconds
  • mmm = milliseconds
  • uuu = microseconds
  • nnn = nanoseconds
  • UTC-00:00 = Time zone
A valid time or
None
if there is no recorded event time.
Grand Master Clock Identity
Shows the identity of the Grand Master clock to which the module is synced.
8-byte hex number
Field Power Status
Shows whether or not field power is present.
Not Present
Present
Field Power On Timestamp
The time when the field power most recently transitioned from not present to present.
A valid time or
None
if there is no recorded event time.
Field Power Off Timestamp
The time when the field power most recently transitioned from present to not present.
A valid time or
None
if there is no recorded event time.
Low System Power Alarm
Shows whether the input system power voltage has moved below the configured Low System Power Limit.
If the input system power voltage is below the configured Low System Power Limit, the alarm remains set until the input system power voltage moves above the configured Low System Power Alarm Limit.
