Enable chatter detection

Use chatter detection to detect a chattering signal (for example, rapid transitions from a failed contact) from a device connected to an input point on the device and ignore the data. Typically, chattering signals cause inputs to transition falsely many times in a relatively short period of time.
To enable chatter detection
  1. On the tab for the device, select
    Points
    .
  2. In the
    Points
    view, for each input point:
    • In the
      Chatter Detection > Enable
column, select the checkbox to enable chatter detection.
    • In the
Chatter Detection > No. of Events
column, enter the number of acceptable input transitions that can occur in a given time period before considering the input to be chatter.
    • In the
      Chatter Detection > Time
column, enter the time period in milliseconds within which the number of input transitions are counted.
  3. Select
    OK
    to save the changes.
    TIP:
Select or clear all checkboxes in a column at once by selecting or clearing the checkbox in the header of each column.
