Enable chatter detection
Use chatter detection to detect a chattering signal (for example, rapid transitions from a failed contact) from a device connected to an input point on the device and ignore the data. Typically, chattering signals cause inputs to transition falsely many times in a relatively short period of time.
To enable chatter detection
- On the tab for the device, selectPoints.
- In thePointsview, for each input point:
- In theChatter Detection > Enablecolumn, select the checkbox to enable chatter detection.
- In theChatter Detection > No. of Eventscolumn, enter the number of acceptable input transitions that can occur in a given time period before considering the input to be chatter.
- In theChatter Detection > Timecolumn, enter the time period in milliseconds within which the number of input transitions are counted.
- SelectOKto save the changes.TIP:Select or clear all checkboxes in a column at once by selecting or clearing the checkbox in the header of each column.
