Internet Protocol view

Use the
Internet Protocol
view to view and configure the Internet Protocol (IP) settings for a device. The settings define how data is routed to and from the device, and within the network. The configured values in this view are available while online.
For controller devices running in
Studio 5000 Logix Designer®
, you can:
  • View the IP settings.
  • Refresh communication to obtain the latest IP setting information from the device.
For controller devices running in
FactoryTalk® Design Studio
and non-controller devices, you can:
  • Select the desired configuration mode for the device.
  • Enter the IP settings if using the manual configuration option.
  • View the IP settings.
  • Refresh communication to obtain the latest port configuration setting information from the device.
The IP settings can be configured manually or automatically obtained using either the BOOTP or DHCP protocol, depending on the device.
TIP:
The IP address can be set using the switches on the device (for a device that support setting the IP address by device).
If using this method, see the label on the side of the device for more information on switch setting, and the resulting IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address.
