Introducing the Stratix® 4100: Next-Generation Ethernet/IP Test Access Point (ETAP)

The Stratix 4100 is designed to elevate network reliability and resiliency. With a high-speed transmission rate of 1 Gbps, advanced networking diagnostic features, and the capability to integrate non-DLR devices into DLR networks, the Stratix® 4100 is the modern solution for your network needs.

Supporting both single mode and multimode fiber, users can effortlessly convert and enhance their network infrastructure. Additionally, the Stratix® 4100 ETAP offers robust media conversion capabilities (cooper to fiber and vice versa), ensuring seamless integration across diverse network environments.

Enhanced with AOP in Logix Designer, Stratix® 4100 provides status connection, allowing customers to view device performance diagnostics in the controller tag structure and simplified installation through a modern form factor (two ports on front of device and in angled position)

Overview

  • Integrate a non-DLR capable device into a DLR network
    • Increases network resiliency and improves production uptime while not imposing the acquisition of new devices
  • Assign the ETAP device as a Ring Supervisor in the network
    • Manage the update rates of traffic on the ring, allowing for efficient use of the network device’s operation
  • Troubleshoot network issues when configured in a Debug Mode
    • Easy transition to Debug Mode through Rockwell Automation tools
    • Third-party tools allow for monitoring of CIP traffic flow
  • Get increased speed for modernization
    • 1 Gbps data transmission rate
  • Supports media conversion from fiber to copper and vice versa
    • Allowing longer runs of cabling with fiber (greater than 100 m [328.1 ft])
  • Includes advanced network diagnostics features
    • LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) – supporting the ability to identify directly connected devices
    • ADDA (Automatic Device Descriptive Analytics) – visible through the add-on profile and product webpage, visibility of key performance parameters
    • Status Assembly - Tags structure data of device diagnostics can be exposed to upper-level software
    • CIP Security – supports CIP Security natively, integrating into CIP Secure networks, through FactoryTalk® Policy Manager
