Open a Project

The following steps describe opening an existing project in FactoryTalk Twin Studio using the Emulate 3D application as an example.
  1. Sign in to FactoryTalk Hub
  2. Select the upper left menu and select View Entitlements to verify that you have a Universal Credit Entitlement available in your organization.
  3. Select the FactoryTalk Hub Home to return to the main page.
  4. Select the Twin Studio tile. The Twin Studio home page opens to the dashboard page with Quick Access Applications displayed.
  5. Select the Emulate 3D tile from the Quick Access Applications to start the Emulate 3D wizard.
  6. Choose a small, medium, or large tier for the size of your simulation project and select Next. It can take up to 3.5 minutes for the service to launch.
  7. Select your region. For better latency choose the region nearest to your location, this is normally the recommended region, and select Launch. The explorer screen appears.
  8. Browse to and double-click the file you wish to open in your home folder if your file is already there. The application, in this case Emulate 3D launches with your project open.
  9. Or, to upload a file from FactoryTalk Vault, select the menu button on the bottom left of the screen. Select either Pull from Vault or Upload to open an existing project.
    • Pull fromVault allows you to work on a projectwithout changing the original. Projectsare uploaded to your default folder.
    • Upload allows you to upload a filefrom your local machine to work on. You can either browse to a file or drag and drop a file to the indicated area.You can add up to ten files at once.Uploaded files are uploaded to your upload folder. This choice allows you to modify an existing file.
  10. Select Save on the file menu to name and save your new project to your solutions folder.
  11. When finished working on your project select the menu button on the lower left of the screen to Push the new file to Vault.
