Configuration

Add-on-Profile (AOP)
The module interface to the Logix controller is configured through a custom, separately-installable Add-on-Profile within RSLogix5000 Software. When a module from the RSLogix5000 "Select Module" dialog is added to the project tree, custom Module-Defined Data Types, and corresponding Input and Output tags are created in the project:
Upon clicking the "CHANGE" button in the Module Definition section on the General page of the AOP, the user selects Revision, Data Format and Number of Slots used in the Data Types and Tags. A producer/consumer IO connection using the module's specific IO assemblies and sizes is created.
Other Types of Configuration
Note: Refer to the IND570 Terminal PLC Interface Manual for a detailed explanation of the following methods.
DIP Switch Settings:
A set of dip switches are available on the IND780 EtherNet/IP interface module which represent the MAC ID, however these should not be changed from the factory default settings.
IP Configuration
The Windows DOS utility, IPCONFIG/ALL, can be used to display the IP address of the host computer. The first three groups of numbers in the IP address and the Subnet mask should be the same as on the IND780 EtherNet/IP Interface module.
Ping Test
The Windows DOS command, "PING (address of target)", can be used to check if the IND780 EtherNet/IP interface module is responding on the network at the expected address.
IND780 Terminal Configuration
The IP address and other network parameters of the IND780 EtherNet/IP interface are configured using the IND780 terminal's setup screens on its front panel. Other configurations involve selecting the appropriate data format (ie. Integer, Division or Floating Point) and allocating the required scale data to the available message slots. This will affect the module's specific IO assemblies and size to allow proper operation.
InSite Configuration Tool
METTLER TOLEDO provides the InSite configuration tool to allow a PC to configure the IND780 terminal remotely over a standard Ethernet network. More details can be found on the IND780 Terminal Technical Manual.
