The

UA Server does not have network connectivity.

Verify network continuity between the

FactoryTalk Linx

UA Connector workstation and

OPC

UA Server.

The

OPC

UA Server software is no longer running, has crashed, or its host computer is shut down or restarting.

Verify the host PC is running. Use

Windows

Services to determine if the

OPC

UA Server software is operating normally.

The

OPC

UA Server hostname or port is incorrect.

Verify the hostname and port number are entered correctly in

FactoryTalk Linx

OPC

UA Connector >

OPC

UA Servers > Endpoint URL

.

The path must be in the format

opc.tcp://hostname_or_ip:port/Endpoint/Name

where

hostname_or_ip

,

port

, and

/Endpoint/Name

are replaced with the hostname or IP address, port number, and endpoint name of an

OPC

UA Server and its local discovery service. If no port is specified, the

FactoryTalk Linx

OPC

UA Connector will attempt to connect to port 4880.

The

UA Server hostname is not resolved.

Enter an IP address in

Endpoint URL

instead of a hostname.

The network hosting the

UA Server does not support IPv4 connectivity.

Ensure the

FactoryTalk Linx

UA Server connect over an IPv4 only network.

Windows

firewall or another software firewall is not configured to allow

UA Server communications.

If the machine hosting the

UA Server uses

Windows

Firewall, use

Control Panel to permit the

UA Server to listen on the specified IP address and port number.

If the machine hosting the

UA Server uses another software firewall, use the configuration utility included with the firewall to permit the

OPC

UA Server to listen on the specified IP address and port number.

Regenerate or replace the

FactoryTalk Linx

OPC

UA Connector certificate with a valid certificate. Then, in the

OPC

UA Server software, locate and accept the security certificate provided by the

FactoryTalk Linx

UA Connector.
