Unable to connect from a FactoryTalk client to a FactoryTalk Linx OPC UA Connector workstation
Possible cause and solution:
- TheFactoryTalkclient orFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector workstation does not have network connectivity.Verify network continuity between theFactoryTalk Administration Consoleor client application and theFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector workstation.View the messages into determine if a connection to theFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector >FactoryTalkDiagnostics LogFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector has been established.
- TheFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector software is no longer running, has crashed, or its host computer is shut down or restarting.Verify the host PC is running. UseWindowsServices to determine if theFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector service is running.
- TheFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector hostname, IP address, or fully qualified domain name is incorrect.Verify the hostname, IP address, or fully qualified domain name is entered correctly in.FactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector > Computer hosting theFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector
- TheFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Server hostname or fully qualified domain name is not resolved.Enter an IP address inComputer hosting theinstead of a hostname or fully qualified domain name.FactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector
- The network hosting theFactoryTalkclient andFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector does not support IPv4 connectivity.Ensure theFactoryTalkclient andFactoryTalk LinxOPCConnector connect over an IPv4 only network.
- Windowsfirewall or another software firewall is not configured to allowFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector communications.For computers usingWindowsfirewall, use theRockwell AutomationWindowsFirewall Configuration Utility to permit theFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector to listen on the specified IP address.For computers using other software firewalls, use the configuration utility included with the firewall to permit theFactoryTalk LinxOPCUA Connector to listen on the specified IP address and port number.
