Do you want to reset the Connector Service
 dialog box appears in one of the following conditions:
  • Changing the OPC UA Endpoint URL
  • Removing an OPC UA Server from a FactoryTalk Linx OPC UA Connector

FactoryTalk Linx
OPC
 UA Connector service. The reset helps ensure FactoryTalk clients get the most up-to-date namespace configuration, but it will stop all service communication and impact the running system.

If changing an

 UA Endpoint URL:
  • The
    FactoryTalk Linx
    OPC
     UA Connector updates the Endpoint URL and refreshes the list of tags from the selected
    OPC
     UA Server    .
  • The
    FactoryTalk Linx
    OPC
     UA Connector service restarts.
  • FactoryTalk
     clients do not receive
    OPC
     UA tag values from any
    OPC
     UA Server connected to this
    FactoryTalk Linx
    OPC
     UA Connector until the reset is complete.
If removing an
OPC
 UA Server from a
FactoryTalk Linx
OPC
 UA Connector:
  • The
    FactoryTalk Linx
    OPC
     UA Connector removes the selected
    OPC
     UA Server.
  • The
    FactoryTalk Linx
    OPC
     UA Connector service restarts.
  • FactoryTalk
     clients do not receive
    OPC
     UA tag values from any
    OPC
     UA Server connected to this
    FactoryTalk Linx
    OPC
     UA Connector until the reset is complete.
