How do I connect a PanelView Plus device to a DH-485 or KEPServer network?

By default, the serial COMM port (COM1) on a
PanelView Plus
 device is configured for DF1 protocol. To connect one of these devices to a DH-485 or KEPServer network, you must reconfigure the COMM port by loading a
FactoryTalk View
 application that contains the appropriate COMM port configuration.
For example, to connect a
PanelView Plus
 device to a DH-485 network, you must load an application in which the
FactoryTalk Linx
 configuration contains a serial DH-485 driver for COM1. Click
Yes
when prompted to replace the terminal's communication configuration with the application's communication configuration.
IMPORTANT:
  • The KEPserver project file that is created in
    FactoryTalk View SE
     v6.10.00 and KEPserver 5.3 cannot be restored correctly in
    FactoryTalk View SE
     v7.00.00 and KEPServer 5.7. To browse devices correctly, after restoring the KEPserver project file, you need to do one of the following before browsing devices:
    • Correct the server computer name
    • Restart Nmsphost service, or
    • Restart the computer
  • FactoryTalk Linx
     configuration is not set when a shortcut is not present for the Kepware serial driver on a
    PanelView Plus
     terminal. The workaround is to create a shortcut.
