Columns in the Alarm and Event Summary
The data fields in the Alarm and Event Summary event list are organized into columns and represent the following alarm and event information. These columns can be configured during design time using the
Alarm and Event Summary Properties
dialog box.The following table shows the columns.
Column | Description |
---|---|
![]() (Priority) | An icon is displayed that represents the urgency of the event.
|
Severity | A numeric measure of the impact of the event upon operations. The value is in the range of 1 (lowest severity) to 1000 (highest severity) for alarms, and 0 for server-based events. |
![]() (Alarm State) | An icon is displayed that represent the change in alarm state caused by an event. An icon may represent different alarm states. This is because the states Disabled, Suppressed, and Shelved take different orders of precedence:
For out of scope alarms, the alarm state in the Event List and the Details pane of the Alarm and Event Summary object might be inconsistent with that in the Alarm Details dialog box. For the most up-to-date alarm state of out of scope alarms, refer to the Alarm Details dialog box.
|
Event Time | The time at which the alarm condition or sub-condition changed into the currently displayed state. The time can include seconds, milliseconds, or microseconds depending on the properties that are configured. |
In Alarm Time | The time at which the alarm condition changed state from Normal to In Alarm. The time can include seconds, milliseconds, or microseconds depending on the properties that are configured. |
Acknowledge Time | The time at which the alarm condition became acknowledged. The time can include seconds, milliseconds, or microseconds depending on the properties that are configured. |
Out of Alarm Time | The time at which the alarm condition changed into the Normal state. Tip : Internally FactoryTalk Alarms and Events normalizes time values to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Objects, such as the FactoryTalk Alarm and Event Summary, convert the time values to the local time zone of the computer where the object is running. For example, the Event Time displayed on computers in different time zones will differ by the number of hours between their time zones. Also, the display format of date and time values is controlled by the Windows Regional Settings in the Control Panel on the computer where the FactoryTalk Alarm and Event Summary is running. |
Area | The FactoryTalk Directory path to the area in which the event occurred, in the format: /Area1/SubArea1/... . For example, /Line1/MixingTank . |
Server Name | The name of the server that generated the event. For example, Packaging Server . |
Group | The group associated with the alarm, in the format Group1.SubGroup1 . |
Alarm Name | The full qualified name of the alarm without the area path and server name. For example, [Line1Controller]Program:Line1Program.MixingTank1 . |
Alarm Short Name | The short name of the alarm. For example, MixingTank1 . |
Condition Name | A name that describes the alarm condition. Condition names vary by event category. For example,
|
Message | The text that describes the event. |
Current Value | The value of the tag that is being monitored for alarms when the alarm condition changed state. |
Live Data Value | The FactoryTalk Live Data tags' value that is updating in real time. Note : This function doesn't support OPC UA alarms. |
Limit Value Exceeded | Applies to alarms whose event category is Level, Deviation, or Rate of Change.
When an input tag value exceeds the limit value an alarm is triggered. |
Tag 1 Value | The value of the associated tag parameter 1. |
Tag 2 Value | The value of the associated tag parameter 2. |
Tag 3 Value | The value of the associated tag parameter 3. |
Tag 4 Value | The value of the associated tag parameter 4. |
Alarm Count | The number of times the alarm condition has gone In Alarm. The alarm count can be reset from the Alarm Details dialog box, which is accessible from the Alarm and Event Summary and the Alarm Status Explorer . |
Alarm Class | A classification string that is associated with an alarm when it is defined. The Alarm Class provides a user defined string that can be used for filtering and sorting alarms. |
Event Category | The category, defined by the alarm server, to which the event belongs: Level, Discrete, Deviation, Event, System, Configured, Rate of Change, and OPC UA |
