Alarm and Event Log Viewer
The Alarm and Event Log Viewer is hosted within FactoryTalk View SE as an object.
The Alarm and Event Log Viewer consists of four parts:
- Toolbar
- Event list
- Details pane
- Status bar
Toolbar
The toolbar appears at the top of the Alarm and Event Log Viewer. The following table
provides a reference of the actions that can be accomplished using the Alarm and Event Log
Viewer toolbar.

![]() | Refresh the information displayed in the event list. |
![]() | Stop reading events from the database into the event list. |
![]() | Find events using text strings. |

![]() | Print alarm and event information. |
![]() | Export the displayed alarm information to a CSV file. |
![]() | Events are shown. Click to hide events. |
![]() | Events are hidden. Click to show events. |
Event list
The top portion of the Alarm and Event Log Viewer displays a list of events divided into rows and columns. The columns across the top of the event list represent data fields in the Alarm and Event Log Viewer display.
Details pane
The details pane is positioned below the event list and displays information about the event selected in the event list.
Status bar
The status bar at the bottom of the Alarm and Event Log Viewer displays the following information at runtime:
- The number of event records in the event list.
- The name of the filter, or the statement "Not Filtered".
- The message: "Reading events from database" while the database query is running.
