Add items to a data group

Use
Add Item
to add one or more data items to the currently displayed group in the
FactoryTalk Live Data Test Client
.
TIP:
All items in a group must come from a single type of data server. For example, group data items from various
RSLinx Classic
 topics, or from various
FactoryTalk View
 HMI servers. Grouping data items from both an OPC server and a
FactoryTalk
 server is not allowed.
To add items to a data group
  1. In
    FactoryTalk Live Data Test Client
    , select
    Data
     >
    Add Item
    .
  2. Expand the data server in the bottom left pane until the
    OPC
     topic, PLC register, or
    FactoryTalk
     data item address is visible.
  3. Select the data item address or enter the fully-qualified
    OPC
     address in
    ItemID
    .
  4. Add items to the
    Items to Add
     pane:
    • To add a single data item, select the data item in the right pane, then select
      ->
      .
    • To add all data items in the selected branch, select
      Add Branch
      .
  5. (optional) Select a
    Datatype
     to request that the server send the data in the specified format.
  6. Select an
    Active
     setting:
    • Checked
       - the data item value is updated once per group update rate
    • Unchecked
       - the data item value is not updated
  7. (optional) Select
    Advanced
     to add multiple items of the same type in an array consisting of up to three dimensions.
  8. Select
    OK.
