- Double-click the downloaded file and follow the installation wizard.
- From theFactoryTalk Optix Studiotoolbar, selectOpen dashboard page.
- From theFactoryTalk Optix Studiotoolbar, selectTemplate libraries.
- Select an existing database or configure a new database:
- To use an existing database:
- Select an existing database.
- If needed, edit the database properties.
- SelectNext.
- To create a new database:
- SelectNew database.
- If needed, edit theNameandTypefields.
- SelectNext.
- If needed, edit the database properties.
- SelectNext.
- To duplicate an available database:TIP: Duplicating an existing database enables you to quickly create a new database based on the existing database.
- Right-click an available database and selectDuplicate.
- If needed, edit the database properties.
- SelectNext.
- SelectNextand selectNext.
- Review the settings.
- SelectExit.
- RECIPES
- In the central pane, selectI want to configure a recipe.
- SelectNew recipe.
- Select the recipe parameters to use.TIP: You can show or hide variables (parameters) nested in other variables by using theNested variablestoggle. You can quickly find the parameters that you want to select by using theSearchfield.

- In the central pane, selectI want to configure a data logger.
- Configure the data logger properties:
- To automatically sample all monitored variables regardless of their values:
- In theSampling modefield, ensure that thePeriodicoption is selected.
- Set theSampling periodproperty.The property value is in the format:0000:00:00.000
- SelectNext.
- To automatically sample all monitored variables which values changed in comparison with the previous sampling:
- From theSampling modefield, selectChange in value.
- Set thePolling timeproperty.The property value is in the format:0000:00:00.000
- SelectNext.
- To sample the variables by invoking theLogmethod:
- SetSampling modetoNone.
- SelectNext.
- Select the variables to log.TIP: You can quickly find the variables to select using theSearchfield.
- DYNAMIC LINKS
- In theProject viewpane, select the node that contains the property to set through the dynamic link.
- In thePropertiespane, next to the property that to set, select .
- EVENTS
- InProject view, select an object or a variable.
- Select a method:
- For global methods, expandCommands.
- For local methods, expand the nodes that expose methods (for example, aDataGridnode exposes aRefreshmethod), or expand the node related to a specific NetLogic.
- (optional) If the method requires arguments, expand the method and set arguments.

- DEPLOYMENT
- From the main toolbar, next toRun
- (optional) InClient device settings, to display only the active remote client devices, toggle .TIP: Refresh remote client devices by selecting .
- Select a client device.
- RunFactoryTalk Optix Applicationon the client system:
- OnWindows®client devices, double-clickFTOptixRuntime.exe.
- On Linux client devices, in the terminal, navigate to theFTOptixRuntimefile folder and enter./FTOptixRuntime.
