Remove and Install a LCL Filter Module from the Enclosure for Frames 8...15
ATTENTION:
Risk of injury, death, or equipment damage exists.
IGBT power and LCL filter modules have a high center of gravity and may pose a tip-over hazard. To guard against death, serious personal injury, or equipment damage, do not subject the module to high rates of acceleration or deceleration while transporting. Do not push or pull above the points that are indicated on the module.
Equipment is available that is designed to help you safely handle the power modules. The following equipment is recommended:
PowerFlex®

PowerFlex®

Replace the LCL filter module with the appropriate catalog number: 20-750-ML1-CnnnDnnn or 20-750-ML1-EnnnFnnn. The LCL filter module catalog number is included on the nameplate located on the front of the module as shown in this illustration.

Follow these steps to remove and install the LCL filter module from the enclosure.
Loosen the screw that secures the connections cover to the front of the adjoining one or more power modules.
Use the screw to lift the connections cover up and off the power module chassis.
IMPORTANT:
The minimum inside bend radius for fiber-optic cable is 50 mm (2 in.). Any bends with a shorter inside radius can permanently damage the fiber-optic cable. Signal attenuation increases as inside bend radius is decreased.
Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), disconnect the fiber-optic cable from the transceiver in the PDI port on the power layer interface circuit board in the power module.
Carefully remove the cable from the power module chassis and, observing the minimum bend radius, secure the fiber-optic cable in a protected location.
Disconnect the 24V cable connector P3 from connector J3 on the I/O panel in one or more power modules and remove the cable from the chassis.
Disconnect the 240V AC control power wire harness connector P4 from P2 (A) on the LCL filter module.
Disconnect the AC input fuse wire harness connector P5 from P1 (B) on the LCL filter module.
Record the position of the PE-A2 jumper on the LCL filter module. The PE-A2 jumper on the new LCL filter module must be installed in the same position.

Remove the three M12 x 13 mm hex nuts that secure the flexible bus cables to the AC input fuse terminals and remove the flexible bus cables.
Remove the two M10 x 20 mm Torx screws that secure the LCL filter module chassis to the control bus frame.
Leave the two M10 x 20 mm screws that secure the LCL filter module chassis to the floor mounting bracket while preparing the
PowerFlex®
750-Series service cart.
Secure the service cart to the floor mounting bracket in the enclosure. See the PowerFlex 750-Series Service Cart and DCPC Module Lift Installation Instructions, publication 750-IN105, for information on by using the service cart.
To release the LCL filter module, remove the two remaining M10 screws.
Remove the LCL filter module from the enclosure.
Verify that the jumper PE-A2 is installed in the correct position on the new LCL filter module.
Install the LCL filter module into the enclosure in the reverse order of removal.
Remove the protective covers from wire harness connectors P1, P2, and P3 when the applicable connections are made on the adjoining power module.
IMPORTANT:
Retain protective covers for power and LCL filter modules for reuse. Install protective covers on connectors when a module is removed and stored.
In the adjoining power module, open the transceiver latch and pull the transceiver out of the PDI fiber optic port on the power layer interface board.
IMPORTANT:
The end of the transceiver that connects to the inside of the fiber port contains dielectric grease. Do not touch the end of the transceiver.
TIP:
If the latch is obstructed and you cannot use your fingers to open it, use a small, flat-blade screwdriver or other long, narrow tool to open the latch.
Without bending the cable to a radius less than 50 mm (2 in.), fully insert the fiber-optic cable into the transceiver.
Insert the transceiver and fiber-optic cable into the port on the board, until you hear an audible ‘click.’
