Edit a data logger

You can edit data logger properties by using a wizard built into
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
.
  1. From the
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio
     toolbar, select
    Open dashboard page
    .
  2. In the central pane, select
    I want to configure a data logger
    .
  3. Select the data logger that you want to edit.
  4. On the right, if needed, edit the logger name and properties.
  5. Select
    Next
    .
  6. Select an existing database or configure a new database:
    • To use an existing database:
      1. Select an existing database.
      2. If needed, edit the database properties.
      3. Select
        Next
        .
    • To create a database:
      1. Select
        New database
        .
      2. If needed, edit the
        Name
         and
        Type
         fields.
      3. Select
        Next
        .
      4. If needed, edit the database properties.
      5. Select
        Next
        .
    • To duplicate an available database:
      TIP: Duplicating an existing database allows you to create a database base on the existing database quickly.
      1. Right-click an available database and select
        Duplicate
        .
      2. If needed, edit the database properties.
  7. Select
    Next
    .
  8. Select the variables to log.
    TIP: You can find the variables to select quickly using the
    Search
     field.
  9. Select
    Next
    .
  10. Review the settings.
  11. Select
    Exit
    .
