Add a FactoryTalk Historian SE server to a FactoryTalk Directory

Once the
FactoryTalk Historian SE
 server is installed and running, add it to the
FactoryTalk® Directory
.
To add the
FactoryTalk Historian SE
 server to the
FactoryTalk Directory
  1. In the
    Explorer
     tree, expand
    System
     >
    Connections
    .
  2. Right-click
    Historical Data
     and select
    New Historian Server Connection
    .
  3. In the
    New Historian Server Connection
     dialog, enter the
    FactoryTalk Historian SE
     server name or select from the
    Server or collective name
     list.
    If the desired
    FactoryTalk Historian SE
     server is not on the
    Server or collective name
     list, see Update the known servers table.
    TIP:
    • A collective consists of two
      FactoryTalk Historian SE
       servers that have the same configuration database. To create a collective, you must use the Collective Manager.
    • For a Historian server collective, enter the primary server name of the collective or select the collective name from the
      Server or collective name
       list. If the collective name is not on the list, make sure that it has been added to the Connection Manager. Then, follow the steps in the Update the known servers table.
  4. Select
    Test server connections
    .
    • If the connection is successful, the "Server found" message appears.
    • If the connection is not successful, the "No server found" message appears. In such a case, check the status of your server in the Connection Manager.
  5. Do one of the following actions as needed:
    • To add a
      FactoryTalk Historian SE
       server to a
      FactoryTalk Directory
      , select
      Create
      .
    • To add a
      FactoryTalk Historian SE
       server to a
      FactoryTalk Directory
       and modify the
      FactoryTalk Historian SE
       server properties, select
      Create and configure
      .
    The new server connection with the default Live Data interface instance
    FTLD1
     appears under the
    Historical Data
     >
    Production Historian
     folder.
