Clear controller faults

Use FactoryTalk Design Studio or the mode switch on the controller to clear major or minor faults.
Ensure the project can communicate with the controller.
  1. On the explorer bar, select
    Devices
    .
  2. In
    Devices
, right-click the controller and select
    Open profile
    .
  3. In the device profile, select
    Faults
    .
  4. In
    Faults
, to clear major faults, either:
    • Select
      Clear Major Faults
. Major faults are removed from the Major Faults log in the controller and in
      Faults
. If the controller mode switch is in Run mode, the controller restarts when the faults clear.
    • Use the mode switch on the controller:
      1. Move the mode switch from the RUN or REM position to the PROG position.
      2. Move the mode switch from the PROG to the REM position.
      3. To restart the program, move the mode switch from the REM to the RUN position. The OK LED on the controller changes from flashing red to solid green. The RUN LED is solid green.
      4. Move the mode switch from the REM to the PROG position. The PROG position does not restart the program. The OK LED on the controller changes from flashing red to solid green. The RUN LED does not illuminate.
The faults removed using the mode switch no longer appear in the Major Fault log in the controller, but the major faults remain visible in
        Faults
        .
  5. To clear minor faults, select any minor faults at the bottom of
    Faults
    , then select
    Clear Minor Faults
. The selected minor faults no longer appear in the Minor Faults log or
    Faults
    .
