 includes these parameters:

Vendor
Displays the device vendor name.
Product Type
Displays the device product type.
Revision
Specifies the major and minor revisions of the device.
Serial Number
Displays the device serial number.
Catalog Number
Displays the device catalog number.
Manufacturing Date
Displays the device manufacturing date.
Warranty Number
Displays the device warranty number.
Major Fault
  • Displays whether there is a major fault. Available values:
    • None
    • Unrecoverable
    • Recoverable
Minor Fault
  • Displays whether there is minor fault. Available values:
    • None
    • Unrecoverable
    • Recoverable
Internal State
  • Displays the device's current operational state. Possible values include:
    • Self-test
    • Flash update
    • Communication fault
    • Unconnected
    • Flash configuration bad
    • Major Fault
    • Run mode
    • Program mode
    • (16#xxxx) unknown
Configured
Displays

 indicating whether the device was configured by the owner controller connected to it.
Once a device is configured, it stays configured until the device is reset or power is cycled, even if the owner drops connection to the device.
This applies only to I/O devices and does not apply to adapters, scanners, bridges, or other communication devices.

Device Identity
Displays whether the physical device matches or mismatches with the configuration in

  • Match
     - The physical device agrees with what is specified in the
    Device Definition
    , and all of these must agree:
    • Vendor
    • Device type (the combination of Product type and Product code for a particular Vendor)
    • Major revision
  • Mismatch
     - If the conditions described in Match are not true.

: Device identity does not take into account the
Electronic keying

 settings in

.
Protection Mode
  • Displays the protection mode of the device when online. The protection mode depends on the device and may include:
    • Explicit
       - Rotatory switches for IP address configuration are set to 900 during boot-up.
    • Implicit
       - The device is bridging active connections or the device itself has active connections.
Refresh
Retrieves and displays the latest information from the device.
Diagnostics
Opens
Device Information Diagnostics
 for diagnostic information.
Reset Device
(simplex devices only)
Initiates a reset operation on the device, which returns the device to its power-up state by emulating the cycling of power.
IMPORTANT
: You can only reset a device if the connection is inhibited or not present.
Reset Module A
(duplex devices only)
Initiates a reset operation on Module A of the device, which returns Module A of the device to its power-up state by emulating the cycling of power.
IMPORTANT
: You can only reset a device if the connection is inhibited or not present.
Reset Module B
(duplex devices only)
Initiates a reset operation on Module B of the device, which returns Module B of the device to its power-up state by emulating the cycling of power.
IMPORTANT
: You can only reset a device if the connection is inhibited or not present.
