Channels view parameters (Thermocouple)
The
Channels
view includes these parameters:Parameter | Description |

Channel | Shows the channel number to which this configuration applies. |
Sensor Type and Range | Sets the sensor type and expected measuring range for the channel. |
Cold Junction | Shows whether the device uses Local or Remote cold junction compensation. This parameter is set in the Ch0x view. |
CJ Sensor Offset | Shows the cold junction compensation value for a thermocouple sensor when Remote cold junction compensation is selected. The value can be between 0 and 10000°C (input in 1/100°C) and is set in the Ch0x view. |
High Signal | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. High Signal is in terms of the input signal units and corresponds to High Engineering when scaled.High Signal must be greater than Low Signal . |
Low Signal | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. Low Signal is in terms of the input signal units and corresponds to Low Engineering when scaled. |
Units (Signal) | Shows the unit of measurement for High Signal and Low Signal . |
High Engineering | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. High Engineering corresponds to High Signal and helps determine the engineering units that the signal values scale into. |
Low Engineering | Sets one of the four constants in the scaling equation. Low Engineering corresponds to Low Signal and helps determine the engineering units that the signal values scale into. |
Units (Engineering) | Shows the unit of measurement for High Engineering and Low Engineering and for the channel’s input value. |
Digital Filter | Sets the time constant for a first order lag filter used to smooth noise transients on the input with a range from 0 through 32767. When set to 0, no filtering takes place. |
Disable Alarms | Determines whether process alarms are generated.

Enable Diagnostics | Enables short circuit and open wire detection on the channel when selected. |
