Company showcases new scalable compute offerings in the Microsoft booth at IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona
BARCELONA — In manufacturing and industrial operations, better business decisions require faster operational visibility. Rockwell Automation helps manufacturers solve this challenge with easy access to advanced analytics and operational insights available at the point of production in milliseconds – not hours.
This week, Rockwell Automation is showcasing its newest scalable compute offerings at IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona, along with other technologies, solutions and services that can help companies successfully and securely take advantage of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Shown in the Microsoft booth (Hall 5, Booth 301), the new Rockwell Automation scalable compute offerings leverage Windows 10 from the edge to the cloud, allowing the right level of computing as needs change and technologies mature.
“In creating the Rockwell Automation scalable compute offerings, we focused on being consistent with manufacturers’ existing IT platforms, as well as their production lines,” said John Dyck, director of software business development at Rockwell Automation. “Now, our customers can access the data they need on the plant floor to make adjustments in real time – or seamlessly move data to the cloud to apply machine learning and predictive analytics.”
Dyck will host a theater session at the event called “Scalable Compute: Intelligent Edge to Intelligent Cloud” to discuss making IIoT data accessible where and when it is needed to support better business decisions. He also will highlight specific use cases to show the impact of these solutions in action. The session is taking place on Oct. 3 at 15:00 – 15:20 and Oct. 4 at 16:00 – 16:20 Central European Time at the Microsoft booth (Hall 5, Booth 301).
The Rockwell Automation scalable compute offerings integrate the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise operating system with existing manufacturing equipment and software. They also can connect manufacturers’ on-premises infrastructure to the Microsoft Azure IoT Suite when needed.
